Abokichi

Abokichi

Abokichi is a food and lifestyle brand offering unique high quality products and experiences at reasonable prices. Inspired by traditional, yet casual Japanese items such as onigiri, the Japanese answer to the sandwich, and tenugui, a versatile textile similar to a bandana, Abokichi creates simple, well-designed products. Nothing fancy, always high quality.

Jess, the talent behind Abokichi, first went to Japan out of curiosity in 2004. Intrigued and excited by the rich culture, she stayed to work in and eventually earn a Masters degree in Media Design. Her interest in Japanese cuisine, and the good food movement led Jess to take a part-time job in a modern Japanese restaurant while conducting and publishing independent research on urban agriculture and design in Tokyo. In 2012, Jess returned to her hometown of Toronto in order to commence work on Abokichi.

Abokichi will be providing delicious onigiri for our Sunday lunch, along with coffee for the entire weekend to keep you going with a healthy buzz. 😀 You can check out Abokichi’s menu over on their website. Don’t forget to check out their Facebook page and Twitter.
